In December 2020, I moved into an apartment with an amazing view. I could see Birmingham's famous Vulcan statue from my balcony! When summer came, I decided to create a balcony garden to make my outdoor space more enjoyable.
There are two towers on the horizon.
The Vulcan can be seen to the right of them.
A surprise visitor.
Hydrangeas were the main attraction.
No garden is complete without a Buddha statue!
Caladiums! 😍
C'est moi, enjoying my morning cup of green tea.
(Ok, so it's usually 2-3 cups, but you get the idea.)
These petunias came with me from my previous apartment,
where they never did very well. But they really seemed to like
the new balcony!
These adorable little mushrooms kept sprouting in the caladium pot.
Brown marmorated stink bugs made themselves right at home.
Did I mention that I am the Leucocoprinus birnbaumii whisperer?
I am also the snail whisperer.
